“Change the World, Start With Energy Star”

The Boys and Girls Club of Harlingen was recently selected to Serve as a “Change the World”, Start With Energy Project site. The Boys and Girls Club of Harlingen hopes the project will increase awareness in club members and their families on everyday energy consumption and how they can be more energy efficient. Below are some of the things the Club has done to promote Energy Awareness:

•  As part of the project the Club hosted a Club wide energy audit and poster contest. Over 250 audits and 300 pledges were collected by club members and their family pledging their commitment to change the world.
• Public Service Announcement educating youth and local citizens on Energy Awareness
• Community Block Party- Giving families the ability to learn first hand how to save energy.
